Frequently asked questions

How do I sign up?

There are several options: You can book online by going to the "Upcoming Classes" page on this website or fill out this form to set up your course or send an email to or message us on FaceBook/ Instagram @ForestCityFirstAid and we will help you set up a course that works for everyone! You can sign up for an exclusive group course just for your group (must be a group of 3 or more) or you can take it with other people who are also interested in taking the course.

How many people will be in the course with me?

To provide the best experience possible and to create a safer environment for you to learn, class size will cap off at 12 candidates. If your group is bigger than 12, we can have a bigger class with no problem. Just shoot us a message and we'll set it up a private course with you right away!

I want a private course, how does it work?

Please fill out this form and we will get in touch with you right away. Let us know what days are best for you and you have the option of choosing to take it at our location or at the comfort of your home for additional $10 per person. There must be enough space for the group to work on the ground and a TV/projector must be provided for the instructor to use. All private courses will have an additional $50 fee split amongst the group up to 2 people. If the private group is more than 2 people the fee will be waived. Example: A group of 2 wants a private EFA course at their house. Cost: $80 EFA course fee + $10 At your location fee + $50 private fee/2 people = $115 per person

Why should I take my course with you?

With Forest City First Aid, you will be in a smaller group maximum of 8 candidates to deliver an exclusive course customized to the group. You will get a chance to practice actually giving artificial breaths on realistic manikins (other organizations rarely ever do this because of larger class sizes and extra cost). At an additional cost, we can come to your location to teach, and we are flexible with scheduling as well. We have a 100% pass rate so far because there is no set finishing time, the instructor will continue teaching until everyone is comfortable including the instructor (max. 16 hours of teaching for SFA, 8 hours for EFA, 8 hours for CRP-A/B/C/HCP). As this is a private course, we can tailor the course to the needs of our clients to get the most out of our course.

How long will the course take?

We customize each class to the candidates work, career, needs and wants. The actual time needed may vary depending on course format, the number of candidates and the learning activities selected. One weekend formats are common. Based on 12–16 candidates: Emergency First Aid: ~8 hours, Standard First Aid: ~16 hours, SFA Recert: ~6.5-8 hours, CPR-A/B/C: ~4-8 hours, CPR-HCP: ~6-8 hours. If the class needs more practice and help, the instructor will continue to teach at no extra cost up to maximum class hours plus an hour. We want you to be prepared, comfortable and get certified!
